Some common accidents happen at home all the time, like fall, burns, allergic reactions, etc. That’s shy you must have a first aid kit handy with you all the time. Here are the items you must have in your first aid kit.
Dressings and bandages
These help in case someone falls and gets injured. You should have adhesive bandages, sterile gauze pads, eye pad, and sterile cotton balls in your emergency first aid kit. These will prevent any infection from occuring if you cut your skin.
Some simple equipment can help a lot in emergency situations. These include gloves for handling blood-related wounds, instant cold pack for head or leg injury, medicine spoon to measure the correct dosage of medicine, thermometer for measuring body temperature, scissors for cutting gauge, tweezers for removing ticks, hand sanitizer, and a list of emergency contact numbers.
You must stock up your first aid kit with an antiseptic solution, antibiotic ointment, sterile eye wash, calamine lotions for stings, hydrocortisone cream for itching, aspirin for fever and pain, antihistamine for swelling and allergies, and more. If you have an asthmatic patient in your family, then it’s recommended that you keep an extra inhaler in the first aid kit. For seniors in the family, you may have to keep some extra medicine in your first aid kit.
