| There are two ways to quickly find what you are looking for here at St. Francis Bookshop Online - the "Search" function and "Browsing by Category". Please take a moment to read this short tutorial to learn how to navigate our site with ease. |
Browsing by Category
|
We have tried to build the layout of our online bookstore in much the same fashion as our "brick and mortar" location, using many of the same categories. When a certain category becomes too "full", we will break it down into sub-categories to make locating the items easier.
Accessing these categories and sub-categories can be accomplished in three different ways on our website. First, one can use the drop-down menus that appear at the top of all the main pages (you can see this menu directly above on this page, with the headings "Books 1", "Books 2", etc.). All the sub-categories appear as sub-menus on this drop-down menu (for example, placing your mouse over the "Prayer" category will show listings for books on the rosary, eucharistic adoration and many more).
You can also use the "Browse by Category" tab located directly above the drop-down menu. This tab will take you to a page where all the main categories are listed, although the sub-categories will not appear until you actually click on the main category icon.
Lastly, while you are browsing through any of the titles or categories on our site, you will see a list of links to all the main categories on the left side of each page. These links will allow you to jump from category to category while shopping. |
Using the "Search" Function

What if you aren't interested in browsing through dozens of titles in dozens of categories? What if you don't know what category we may have a title listed? What if you are simply looking for a specific book, or books by a specific author? This is where the "Search" function is extremely helpful.
By clicking on the "Search" tab, you are able to enter in any bit of information you have (author's name, a full or partial title, the ISBN number, etc.) and any item on our site which contains this information will come up in the search results.
One important tip when using the "Search" function: Keep it simple. For example, if you type in "Henri J.M. Nouwen" and we have this author listed as "Henri Nouwen", very little if anything will come up for your search result because there will be no exact matches. However, if you simply type in "Nouwen" and then click "Search", everything we have on our site by, about, or referencing him will appear.
If you wish to search by ISBN number, please enter it with no dashes or spaces, as this is how our books are entered in our online database. |
Still Can't Find It?

| Finally, if you cannot find a book you are looking for by any of these methods, it doesn't mean we don't carry it or that we cannot obtain it for you. There are many, many more books and gift items on the shelves of our store than we have listed on our website. Simply send us an email regarding any book or other item you are searching for. We can easily add items to our website for online purchasing, or we can let you know how to order your item by phone, fax or mail. |
